This course combines Swedish massage and knowledge of anatomy with techniques such as cross fiber friction, deeper effleurage, muscle stretching and myofascial release to address more chronic tissue conditions such as scars, adhesions, and fascial restrictions.

Instructor Bio: Karen Silk, NCTMB
Karen A. Silk has been a Massage Therapist for 25 years. She graduated from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy in 1983. She is a certified practitioner of Neuro-Muscular Therapy. Specializing in Deep Tissue massage, she feels that it is not about the deepness, but the journey to get there. She has taught at A SpiriTouch Institute and East West School of Massage in Madison, WI. Although she does not currently practice professionally, she keeps current with the profession and has renewed her national certification.
