Restorative Self Care Through Yoga and Meditation
  This course is an introduction to the nurturing aspects of the ancient science and art of Yoga and meditation for self care of the body, mind and spirit.

You will:

- Explore the basic principles and techniques of 3 different meditation practices.

- Learn and practice gentle yoga flow and passive restorative yoga poses.

- Practice a basic form of Yoga Nidra: deep yogic relaxation.

- Develop your own customized self care program by selecting the practices from the class that resonate with you.

Instruction includes mainly supervised practice along with lecture and demonstration.

Materials & Supplies:

Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat, 2 stiff blankets [which may be ordered in advance from Iris], an eye pillow, and 2 bed size pillows.

  Instructor Bio: Iris Mickey
Education has been a major focus in Iris Mickey's life. The type of yoga that she teaches and practices supports excellent biomechanical alignment which is important for the effectiveness and longevity of bodyworkers. She is a registered yoga teacher and continues her studies with John Friend, founder of Anusara(TM) Yoga. Iris is a WI certified massage therapist and certified occupational therapy assistant. She is the sole proprietor of SynergyBodyworks, providing bodywork and individualized therapeutic yoga as well as Hatha Yoga classes. Iris has been able to maintain her wellness in her thriving bodywork practice by doing yoga regularly herself.
